Frequently Asked Questions

An episode is a major content update that expands the game's world, raises the level cap, and may introduce new classes or systems — the series runs from EP1 to EP28 and beyond. The episode a private server runs on determines which content, dungeons, and characters are available.

Early episodes offer the original six classes with a tighter, more focused progression system, while later episodes add new classes, expanded maps, and higher level caps that open up additional build possibilities. Players who prefer a classic feel often gravitate toward lower episode servers.

Preferences vary across the private server community, but projects tend to cluster around episodes that offer a well-rounded class roster and stable content without the complexity of the most recent additions. The specific episodes available are listed in each server's description.

The original six classes — Warrior, Blader, Wizard, Force Archer, Force Shielder, and Force Blader — have been present since launch, while Gladiator was added around EP11, Force Gunner around EP17, and Dark Mage around EP28. A server running an earlier episode will not have the newer classes available.

Select the episode range that corresponds to the classes and content you want to play, then review the filtered listings for rates and server type. Reading each project's description will confirm whether additional customisations match your expectations.

Why Cabal Online Stays Relevant

Released by the Korean studio ESTsoft in 2005, Cabal Online endures not because of modern graphics but because of its combat system. Its core is the combo system, where skills are chained manually by timing, together with Battle Mode 1, 2 and 3 and Aura Mode. The game is set in the world of Nevareth, rebuilding after the catastrophe caused by the secret organization CABAL. This focus on reaction and well-planned builds has kept its audience for two decades.

Classes, Modes and the Private Scene

The game has six original classes — Warrior, Blader, Wizard, Force Archer, Force Shielder and Force Blader. Gladiator, Force Gunner and Dark Mage were added later, bringing the total to nine. Private servers cover different eras: from the classic Episode 8 to later episodes with expanded content and the Force Wing system. You will find both near-original builds and projects with custom mechanics.

How to Choose a Private Server: What to Look For

Not every project in the catalogue will fit your goals, so it helps to judge a server by a few clear criteria rather than by announcement promises alone.

Economy and Rates

A living auction house matters more than advertised figures. If the Alz currency devalues quickly and Force Core materials cost almost nothing, the economy is out of balance. Pay attention to the Dungeon Points and upgrade systems, as well as the stated experience, skill-experience and crafting rates. Low rates give a long progression; high rates give fast access to endgame and PvP.

Balance and a Fair Model

Selling top-tier gear directly in the donation shop at launch is a warning sign — a Pay-to-Win model usually breaks PvP. It is worth reading reviews on how donations affect Nation War and Mission War, and whether there is protection against cheats and macros.
