Cabal Online Glossary

A reference guide to the terms you will come across on Cabal Online private servers. Each entry briefly explains what the term means and how it affects choosing a server and playing on it. Terms link to one another, and you can jump straight from an entry to matching servers.

Classes (6 original + new)
Cabal Online launched with six original classes: Warrior, Blader, Wizard, Force Archer, Force Shielder and Force Blader. Gladiator, Force Gunner and Dark Mage were added later, bringing the total to nine. Each class channels the power of Force in its own way, from close combat to ranged attacks and magic. On a private server the available classes depend on its episode, so it is worth checking the server description. Related: Combo System, Battle Mode (BM1 / BM2 / BM3), Force Wing
Combo System
The Combo System is Cabal Online's signature combat mechanic: you chain skills together with precise timing, much like in fighting games, rather than simply pressing buttons in sequence. The better you keep the rhythm of a combo, the higher the damage and the smoother the fight. This system is what sets Cabal apart from most MMORPGs and makes combat depend more heavily on player skill. Battle Mode (BM1 / BM2 / BM3)
Battle Mode is an enhanced combat state that a character activates during a fight: BM1 and BM2 unlock special skill chains, while BM3 is the most powerful mode, carrying the Synergy effect. Entering Battle Mode noticeably raises damage and opens up special combos. Which modes are available and how strong they are depends on class and level, which makes Battle Mode an important part of Cabal's endgame. Aura Mode (Battle Aura)
Aura Mode (Battle Aura) is a combat aura state that empowers your character and changes their appearance while it is active. It works together with the Combo System and Battle Mode, adding another layer to combat. The aura is part of Cabal's signature fast-paced fighting style, where success depends not only on stats but on how well you manage your enhancement modes. Related: Battle Mode (BM1 / BM2 / BM3), Combo System
Force Wing
Force Wing is a wing-of-force system added in later episodes and available from a high level. The wings provide their own development branch, stats and skills that noticeably strengthen a character in the endgame. On private servers, whether Force Wing exists depends on the episode: classic projects lack it, while later ones treat it as an important part of progression. Two Nations (Capella and Procyon)
In Cabal Online, players are split between two rival nations: Capella and Procyon. You choose your nation once you reach a certain level, and it determines which side you fight for in large-scale wars. Nation allegiance is the foundation of Cabal's PvP conflict and the basis for Mission War and other cross-nation battles on a server. Related: Mission War, PvP
Mission War
Mission War is a large-scale PvP event between the Capella and Procyon nations, where teams fight for points and objectives on a dedicated map. It is one of Cabal Online's central battles, one that pulls guilds and entire nations together. Victory brings rewards and combat experience, so how active Mission War is on a server is a good sign of how alive its PvP scene really is. Nevareth (the game world)
Nevareth is the world in which Cabal Online takes place. According to the story, the CABAL organization triggered the catastrophe known as the Great Destruction, after which masters of Force revived humanity. Understanding the Nevareth setting helps you see locations, nations and lore as parts of a single story rather than a set of disconnected zones. Episodes (Episode, EP8…)
Episodes (EP) are major stages in Cabal Online's development, each adding classes, systems and zones while raising the level cap. Among private servers, EP8 is regarded as the classic, nostalgic era, while later episodes offer more content and systems such as Force Wing. A server's episode is the first thing worth checking, since it determines exactly which version of the game you will be playing. Rates (x1, x50, x1000)
Rates are multipliers for experience, drop and currency gain compared to the official game. A low-rate server keeps the slow leveling pace close to the original, while a high-rate one lets you reach the endgame and PvP quickly. Rates are one of the first things players look at when choosing a server, which is why they are usually listed near the top of the description. Browse Rates (x1, x50, x1000) servers Related: Episodes (Episode, EP8…), Alz (currency), Upgrade (enhancement)
Alz (currency)
Alz is Cabal Online's main in-game currency. Players use it to buy gear and consumables and to settle trades with each other. How quickly you earn Alz depends on the server's rates and directly affects its economy: too much inflow devalues the currency, too little slows progression down. Because of this, balancing Alz is an important part of tuning a server. Related: Rates (x1, x50, x1000), Upgrade (enhancement), Force Core
Upgrade (enhancement)
Upgrading is the process of enhancing gear in Cabal Online: you raise an item's level and insert slots to boost its stats. As the level rises, enhancement becomes riskier, since a failure can damage the item. Maximum levels and success chances are often tuned separately on private servers, and this noticeably affects both the economy and the power of top players. Related: Alz (currency), Force Core, Rates (x1, x50, x1000)
Force Core
Force Core is a consumable core of force used when enhancing and processing gear. Cores come in different levels, and the higher the level, the stronger the effect — but also the more valuable it is. Force Core is an important part of Cabal's item progression system, so its availability and price noticeably affect a server's economy. Related: Upgrade (enhancement), Alz (currency)
PvP
PvP (player versus player) means fighting other players rather than monsters. In Cabal Online, PvP largely revolves around the rivalry between nations and Mission War, along with duels and arenas. Servers that focus on PvP tend to emphasize frequent fights and polished combo-based combat. If facing real opponents is what interests you, look for projects like these. Dungeons
Dungeons are instanced areas in Cabal Online that players clear for experience, loot and rare items. They include Forgotten Temple, Tower of the Dead, Illusion Castle and others, each aimed at a different level range. Dungeons form the core of Cabal's PvE content, since they are where you obtain gear for further enhancement. The available set of dungeons depends on the server's episode. Related: Episodes (Episode, EP8…), Upgrade (enhancement)
Cabal Online Private Server
A private server is a project run by a team of enthusiasts outside the game's official infrastructure. Such servers configure their own episode, rates, class balance and economy, so projects can differ noticeably from each other. Private servers let you return to classic episodes like EP8 or, conversely, play with accelerated leveling — and that is exactly what to look at when choosing one.
