Frequently Asked Questions

A Cabal Online private server is an independent project based on the client of ESTsoft's action-MMORPG Cabal Online (released in Korea in 2005). Such servers run separately from the official publisher and offer adjusted progression rates, custom mechanics and different episode versions — from the classic Episode 8 to later ones. Players are drawn by tailored settings and nostalgia for earlier versions. The official game is still running, so private servers are an alternative with different conditions.

Private servers cover a wide range of episodes. The classic Episode 8 remains popular for its familiar balance without later classes, while newer episodes add the Gladiator, Force Gunner and Dark Mage classes, the Force Wing system and an updated endgame. Experience and drop rates range from low (x1-x5) for a long progression to high (x100 and up) for fast PvP. The exact episode and rates for each project are listed in its card.

The 2026 catalogue lists 13 Cabal Online projects with 12 servers. You can filter the list by server type, episode version and rates, and sort and compare projects by their details and player reviews.

First decide on the episode: Episode 8 suits classic fans, while later versions suit those who want new classes and expanded content. Then weigh the rates: low rates give a long progression, high rates are aimed at fast PvP. Check the Nation War and Mission War schedule, the balance of the Force Core and upgrade systems, and read reviews about how donations affect gameplay.

Most Cabal Online private servers are free to enter: registration and the client download are free. Some projects offer a donation shop with cosmetic items, experience boosters and premium features. How much donations affect balance varies from server to server, so it is worth checking before you start — projects that sell combat advantage are usually flagged in reviews.

Private servers are not affiliated with the official publisher and are not officially verified, so choose projects with a long track record and positive player reviews. Download the client only from the chosen server's official site, use a unique password for the game account, and read reviews before donating. Servers with a long, stable history are usually a safer bet than brand-new ones.
